AI Essentials (AI 101)
A foundational course for AV and collaboration professionals beginning their AI journey.
Course Overview
AI Essentials (AI 101) is a carefully curated, foundational course designed to demystify artificial intelligence for professionals in the AV and collaboration industry. Recognizing the growing demand for AI literacy across all roles and experience levels, this course provides a structured, industry-aligned entry point for anyone looking to build confidence, clarity, and capability with AI. It is the first stage in the broader NΞXXT learning journey—intentionally crafted to reduce the friction of “where do I start?” while preparing learners to meaningfully engage with AI in their own work and team environments.
The course combines rich instructional content, short focused video segments, scenario-based prompts, and simple project tasks. While the subject matter reflects globally applicable AI fundamentals, the course is tailored in its tone, pacing, and industry context to resonate with professionals across roles in the AV and workplace technology sectors.
Rather than overwhelming learners with deep technical detail, AI 101 introduces the terminology, tools, and concepts necessary to form a mental model of what AI is (and isn’t), what it’s capable of, and how to start exploring its potential. It also builds critical awareness around responsible use, data quality, common misconceptions, and the human-AI collaboration mindset that underpins future learning.
Learners progress through nine structured modules that blend brief expert instruction with visual glossary breakdowns, prompt labs, and guided self-reflection. The course emphasizes personal experimentation using popular AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or CoPilot—even with free-tier access—so that learners experience AI’s relevance in real-time. For those newer to AI, the learning experience is supported by an optional Sidecar AI assistant—available throughout the course to help reinforce understanding, answer questions, and coach learners as they complete hands-on tasks.
The AI Essentials course is self-paced and optimized for flexibility. Total learner effort is approximately 4 hours, consisting of 2 hours of asynchronous content and 1–2 hours of individual assignments and exercises. Learners are also invited to join the NΞXXT Community platform—an always-on learning environment where professionals across the industry share stories, insights, questions, and informal discussion around AI, workplace transformation, and future-readiness.
This course is especially suited for AV professionals who identify as “AI Curious” or “AI Laggards”—those who may feel behind or hesitant but want to build a strong foundation. That said, it has also proven valuable to more experienced professionals who want a confidence-building refresher aligned with modern, applied use.
Applied AI for AV & Collaboration Professionals
From concept to action: applying AI in real-world AV, workplace, and collaboration environments
Course Overview
Applied AI for AV & Collaboration Professionals is a next-stage learning experience for individuals who have developed a baseline understanding of AI and are ready to explore its relevance, utility, and transformative potential within their actual day-to-day work. Built specifically for the AV and collaboration industry, this course bridges the gap between generic AI training and the applied thinking that AV professionals need to act with clarity and confidence.
While AI Essentials (AI 101) focused on foundational concepts, this course shifts the focus to industry-specific inspiration, practical examples, and opportunity-mapping. It is designed to activate a mindset of experimentation and ideation. Through a blend of guided instruction, industry case stories, and project-driven exploration, learners are encouraged to think critically about how AI could support or transform their current workflows – no matter their role, organization type, or technical background.
Rather than prescribing universal solutions, this course is built around the idea of teaching professionals how to think about AI. By showcasing examples from design, sales, content creation, service delivery, and more, the course helps learners extract principles that can be adapted to their own context. They are guided through practical frameworks to help surface friction points, uncover patterns, and design their own lightweight AI experiments using tools like ChatGPT, CoPilot, Claude, and basic automation platforms.
Each module includes story-driven learning from respected AV industry voices, offering real-world insights into how AI is being explored or applied across different organizational layers and functional teams. Learners engage with applied project activities throughout, including role-specific brainstorming tasks, prompt development, peer use-case mapping, and small-scale pilot design.
The course is delivered via a modern learning platform and includes ~4 hours of on-demand video and instructional content, complemented by 60 – 90 mins of applied “project” work. However traditional learning in an AI era is transforming, from linear “telling”, to interactive and personalised exploring. As such participants will also be equipped with AI-enhanced learning support through a parallel AI conversational interface offering course material and projects related contextual help, ideation suggestions, and deeper exploration of topics – all on demand and tailored to how and when they want to engage. Shared learning is also a key to understanding and application of knowledge. The course interface is simply one aspect of a broader NEXXT “Community Platform, digital “place” for everyone from the AI curious to the featuring forums, chats, thought leadership content, events, and networked, professional learning space where peers can share examples, ask questions, and learn through collective experimentation.
